HOPE Charcoal Corduroy Coat

A timeless coat with plenty of personality.

The perfect outer layer for both autumn and then early spring, crafted from heavier 100% cotton corduroy in a beautifully washed charcoal shade. Please note this coat is not black  - but greyish black - we call it charcoal - washed grey.

The coat has an easy, straight silhouette with a softly rounded hem. A wide pleat at the centre back opens gently as you move, adding subtle flare, beautiful movement and extra room for layering over everything from dresses and denim to chunky knits.

Inside, the coat is fully lined in biscuit-coloured 100% cotton, decorated with stars that are carefully printed by hand using traditional wooden blocks. The handmade printing process creates small, beautiful variations, giving every lining its own unique artisan character.

Biscuit-coloured contrast stitching runs throughout the coat, highlighting its construction and adding a cool graphic finish. Large, light-coloured statement buttons are sewn on with dark thread for an unexpected contrast, while practical side pockets keep the design easy and wearable.

Front hem states for us so dear message L O V E - turn around for the final message: HOPE, embroidered by hand across one back shoulder. Our signature “happiness” appliqué patches in Hindi add another meaningful artisan detail and make the coat unmistakably Agencies Turquoise.

Cool, timeless and made with heart – a coat to wear season after season.

Q & A

MATERIAL Q

How do you produce your fabrics?
We have sourced raw materials from our fabric manufacturers in India since 2004. We dye, print, and embroider everything ourselves.

Do you work exclusively with natural materials?
Yes, we mainly use pure cotton, linen, and silk. Occasionally, we create garments in viscose.

Do you work with multiple suppliers around the world?
No. Apart from our silk supplier in China, everything has been handled in-house by our long-standing and only manufacturer in India since 2004.

WASHING Q

Can your cotton garments be washed at 40°C?
Yes, but we always recommend washing them at 30°C especially our traditionally handprinted block prints.

How should your silk garments be washed?
For a longer lifespan, we recommend hand washing. However, they can also be machine washed on a short, gentle cycle in a laundry bag, using detergent suitable for silk or wool, or olive oil soap.

Is there anything special to consider when washing batik-patterned garments?
Yes, do not leave batik-patterned garments to soak in water.

TIPS FOR A LONGER GARMENT LIFE Q

Wash with care
Wash only when needed and choose a low temperature whenever possible. We recommend washing cotton at 30°C.

Be gentle with delicate fabrics
Silk can often simply be aired between wears. When washing is needed, hand wash whenever possible. If using a washing machine, choose a short, gentle cycle and use a laundry bag. Never soak batik-patterned garments.

Embrace the natural texture
Cotton, linen, and silk can be ironed, but they do not have to be. Leave them unironed for a softer, more relaxed look.

ABOUT US Q

Do you work with external designers?
No. I’m Elina, and I design all of our styles.

How do you collaborate with your manufacturing partner in India?
I spend three months of every year on-site in India. Together with our local team, I develop each new collection: from season to season, year after year.
