Traditional craftsmanship, beautiful volume and a little bit of magic.

Made in a substantial cotton poplin, this dress is all about the beauty of traditional Indian craftsmanship. The fabric is decorated with a traditional hand-printed block print, giving every piece its own individual character and slightly imperfect beauty. Colour is charcoal latte greyish tone.

The real magic is in the detailed hand-guided machine embroidery across the upper part of the dress. Created slowly by guiding the fabric by hand under the embroidery machine, it gives the design that special handcrafted feeling that simply cannot be achieved by ordinary industrial embroidery. Bottom hem is left raw with top stitch.

Designed in a generous empire-line silhouette with lots of width, gathers and beautiful volume – perfect for those who love a dress with movement and presence.

The open neckline is finished with long self-fabric ties and beautiful tassels, while the wide sleeves have softly gathered details for an easy, romantic shape. And of course – side pockets, because we love a beautiful dress even more when it has pockets.

Q & A

How do you produce your fabrics?
We have sourced raw materials from our fabric manufacturers in India since 2004. We dye, print, and embroider everything ourselves.

Do you work exclusively with natural materials?
Yes, we mainly use pure cotton, linen, and silk. Occasionally, we create garments in viscose.

Do you work with multiple suppliers around the world?
No. Apart from our silk supplier in China, everything has been handled in-house by our long-standing and only manufacturer in India since 2004.

Can your cotton garments be washed at 40°C?
Yes, but we always recommend washing them at 30°C especially our traditionally handprinted block prints.

How should your silk garments be washed?
For a longer lifespan, we recommend hand washing. However, they can also be machine washed on a short, gentle cycle in a laundry bag, using detergent suitable for silk or wool, or olive oil soap.

Is there anything special to consider when washing batik-patterned garments?
Yes, do not leave batik-patterned garments to soak in water.

Wash with care
Wash only when needed and choose a low temperature whenever possible. We recommend washing cotton at 30°C.

Be gentle with delicate fabrics
Silk can often simply be aired between wears. When washing is needed, hand wash whenever possible. If using a washing machine, choose a short, gentle cycle and use a laundry bag. Never soak batik-patterned garments.

Embrace the natural texture
Cotton, linen, and silk can be ironed, but they do not have to be. Leave them unironed for a softer, more relaxed look.

Do you work with external designers?
No. I’m Elina, and I design all of our styles.

How do you collaborate with your manufacturing partner in India?
I spend three months of every year on-site in India. Together with our local team, I develop each new collection: from season to season, year after year.

Care: Gentle machine wash inside out. This beautiful cotton gets better and softer the more you wash and wear it. As this is a traditional hand-printed block print, the colours will naturally become slightly lighter with washing over time. Do not use strong washing powders or detergents.
