And for us, the fabric has always been part of the creative process.
Since 2004, we have sourced our raw materials through our fabric manufacturer in India. Rather than simply choosing finished fabrics from different suppliers around the world, we work together with the same long-standing team to create fabrics for our collections.
Dyed, Printed and Embroidered
Colour, prints and embroidery have always been an important part of the Agencies Turquoise world.
Our fabrics are dyed, printed and embroidered together with our manufacturer in India, allowing us to develop combinations and details specifically for our collections.
Some of the techniques we use naturally create small variations from one piece to another. Colours can shift slightly, prints can have their own character and embroidered details carry traces of the process behind them.
We love that.
It means that two pieces can be similar without ever being exactly the same.
Each piece is as unique as you.
Natural Materials at Heart
Natural fabrics form the foundation of our collections.
We mainly work with pure cotton, linen and silk – materials we return to again and again because of the way they feel, breathe, move and age.
Cotton can be wonderfully light and soft. Linen has its unmistakable texture and relaxed character. Silk brings something completely different – lightness, movement and a beautiful natural lustre.
Occasionally, we also work with viscose when its softness and drape are particularly suited to a design.
One Long-Standing Partnership
We don't work with a constantly changing network of manufacturers around the world.
Apart from our silk, which comes from our long-standing silk supplier in China, our fabrics and garments are developed with the same manufacturer in India that we have worked with since 2004.
For us, that continuity matters.
It means working with people who understand our ideas, our expectations and all those little details that make an Agencies Turquoise piece feel like Agencies Turquoise.
From raw material to colour, print and embroidery, there are many steps before a fabric is finally ready to become part of a collection.
It's a slower way of creating.
And that's exactly how we like it.
